We are currently looking for a research assistant. The RA would help with data analysis for a GAC research project on the impact of foreign language proficiency and intercultural competence on the performance of diplomatic missions overseas. The data has been collected through questionnaires and interviews and the analysis will follow a mixed-method approach with statistical analysis and thematic coding of the interviews.
The research assistant would help with the statistical analysis and do the bulk of the coding, among other tasks under the supervision of Juliana Bahia, Foreign Language Evaluation Unit Manager. The contract will be based on a part-time schedule in December 2021, and a full-time schedule in January, February and March 2022.
We are looking for the following qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in any Social Sciences or Humanities discipline
- Experience with quantitative and qualitative research
- Intermediate-level knowledge of statistical data analysis
- Experience using NVivo software for thematic coding of qualitative data
In terms of compensation, that would be determined by our service provider as they have a contract with GAC for this type of service. We would direct interested individuals to them to work out the administrative details.
